Joseph P. Caruso

Mr. Caruso joined the Brain Aneurysm Board in January 2025. Mr. Caruso has decades of business experience and a distinguished career in the medical device field. He spent more than 20 years at Palomar Medical Technologies, a publicly traded medical device company based in Massachusetts with operations worldwide. Mr. Caruso served as president, CEO and board chairman and was a founding member of the management team along with world recognized scientists and business leaders. He brings broad executive management, operational, financial, administrative, and general management experience. In addition to the BAF, Mr. Caruso has been active on the boards of both public and private medical device companies. He has worked with world class clinical and research medical groups developing new devices and treatments for a variety of medical conditions using novel devices and modalities.

Mr. Caruso and his wife Lynne have been leading advocates and fundraisers for brain aneurysm research, becoming active in Foundation programs following the death of their 31-year-old daughter Katelyn in 2023. In her memory, they established Katelyn’s Crew, an organization that raises awareness for the disease and now funds two Brain Aneurysm Foundation research chairs, supporting innovative studies at Mass General Brigham and the University of Pittsburgh. They have also been involved in lobby efforts in Washington D.C., working towards long-term grants to support increased awareness and innovative research for the diagnosis and treatment of Brain Aneurysms.
