Marc J. Marotta Chair of Research

The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the Marc J. Marotta Chair of Research. The Chair of Research is fully funded by Marc’s daughter, Chloe Marotta, who started the Rebounds for Research fundraiser in partnership with The Winning Way Foundation to raise funds to support aneurysm research.

Marc was a star athlete,  Academic All-American, and Division One college basketball player at Marquette University. His daughter, Chloe, followed in his footsteps and played for the Women’s basketball program at Marquette, becoming one of the leading rebounders in the university’s history.

Chloe lost her father, Marc, to a brain aneurysm in April 2015. He was fifty-two years old and left behind a wife and four young children, including Chloe, who was in 9th grade. Since then, she has worn his jersey number 52 and made it her passion to help raise funds to raise money to support early detection and screening for brain aneurysms. In the spring of 2023, she leveraged her Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) and raised more than $26,000 through her Rebounds for Research campaign. While she started with a modest goal of raising $500, she was pleased that her successful campaign would be able to not only save lives but also prevent other families from experiencing unimaginable loss and heartbreak.
