The Larry Bedell Chair of Research was established to honor Larry Bedell, a brain aneurysm rupture survivor whose life was saved through emergency treatment and groundbreaking neurovascular care. After experiencing a sudden headache in 2017, Larry was diagnosed with a ruptured brain aneurysm and underwent a cutting-edge endovascular procedure that helped him make a remarkable recovery. Inspired by his outcome and aware that many families are not as fortunate, the Bedell family became dedicated supporters of the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. Through the Larry Bedell Chair of Research, they are helping advance critical research focused on early detection, improved treatments, and better outcomes for patients affected by brain aneurysms. Their commitment reflects a shared belief that increased awareness and research funding are essential to reducing aneurysm-related deaths and creating a future with fewer ruptures.
