About the Brain Aneurysm Foundation
The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is the globally recognized leader in brain aneurysm awareness, education, support, advocacy, and research funding.
Established in 1994 and based in Hanover, Mass., the foundation today has a Medical Advisory Board made up of dozens of the world’s foremost aneurysm experts — neurologists, neurosurgeons, interventional neuroradiologists, and other brain aneurysm specialists — from leading institutions around the globe. Over the past decade the Foundation has provided millions of dollars in grants to academic researchers working to develop promising and potentially life-saving innovations for brain aneurysm treatment and prevention. In 2024, the BAF will mark it’s 30th year supporting the brain aneurysm community.
We lobby in Washington to get more research dollars looking specifically at brain aneurysms and their treatments and outcomes.

Our Purpose
The Brain Aneurysm Foundation aspires towards a life without death or disabilities caused by brain aneurysm ruptures. The foundation wants to keep families and communities whole and keep people in the workforce.
Brain aneurysms are treatable, which is why identifying an aneurysm before rupture is critical. With research and appropriate scanning, we can all get a step closer to preventing ruptures, disability, and death.
