“The Southern NH & Merrimack Valley Awareness Train”: Southern NH and Merrimack Valley Survivor, Family, Friends, Residents and Businesses unite to be “Strong Together” to raise $15,000.00 for Brain Aneurysm & AVM Awareness.
Michele Savard, a Southern NH resident, who cheated death and survived thru a life-threatening AVM rupture on February 10, 2011, shares a deep passion and is now on a quest to Raise Awareness for Aneurysms and AVMs. Never knowing of her AVM she appears to have been born with, Michele partnered with Family, Friends, Residents and Businesses in Southern NH and the Merrimack Valley communities who joined her on her quest to create this one-of-a-kind “Awareness Train” who are all part of a community who is truly helping to make a difference in the Lives of others.
“The Awareness Train” had its first Awareness Social in Methuen, MA on February 19, 2016. They set the bar high from the get-to with a goal to raise $10,000.00 in their first year. With over two hundred people making their way in and out of the social, held at the Merrimack Golf Course in Methuen, MA, the “Awareness Train” raised $15,000.00. The “Awareness Train” pays tribute to their “Angels Among them” including 7 precious lives: Catherine Williams, Lynn Wareing, Angelo Lagana, Francis Hilario, Alfred E. Hechemy, Janet Metzger and Eli Vasquez, this Aneurysm/AVM beast stole way too soon and one Survivor, Diane Stackhouse, who now requires round-the-clock care from her family and friends.
“The Awareness Train” featured a top of the line Raffle line-up that included a custom-built electric guitar featuring the Logo of the Foundation, all of the Boston Sports teams covered with either tickets or autographed items, Scratch ticket baskets (each basket filled with tickets valued at $100), Margarita Basket, Espresso machine, gift certificates from local Businesses including: restaurants, Spa’s, hair salons, auto service and so much more! This community is certainly one that defines “STRONG TOGETHER” with so many passengers boarding this “one-of-a-kind” Awareness Train and are eager to continue their travels next year in 2017 with their goals being helping to raise awareness, save lives and all share a commitment to public outreach that is truly helping to make a difference!
